Allianz Stadium Matchday & Tour Guide

The operational guide to experiencing the home of Juventus FC: architecture, gate security protocols, seating vantage points, and non-matchday stadium tours.

Modern Arena Architecture in Northern Turin

Inaugurated in September 2011 on the site of the former Stadio delle Alpi, the Allianz Stadium (originally known as the Juventus Stadium) transformed Italian sports infrastructure. It remains one of the few club-owned football stadiums in Italy, breaking free from municipal leasehold limitations and bringing fans extraordinarily close to the pitch.

Unlike the cold concrete bowl and running track of the Delle Alpi that preceded it, the stadium seats 41,507 spectators with the closest seats positioned just 7.5 meters from the touchline. Two iconic 86-meter-high steel masts support the roof structure via pre-stressed cables, creating an unobstructed view from every sector without supporting pillars.

Stadium Sectors & Matchday Atmosphere

Selecting your sector directly determines your matchday perspective:

  • Curva Sud (Tribuna Sud): The beating heart of Juventus home vocal support. Spanning two levels, this stand hosts the active supporter banners and coordinated chants. Tickets here are rarely available to non-members for marquee fixtures.
  • Curva Nord (Tribuna Nord): Traditionally more mixed, hosting passionate local fans, international fan club delegations, and occasional family allocations. Great sightlines at accessible price tiers.
  • Tribuna Ovest (West Stand): The main grandstand, featuring the player tunnel, technical dugouts, press boxes, and premium hospitality suites (such as the Legends Club and Club Gianni e Umberto Agnelli).
  • Tribuna Est (East Stand): Directly opposite the cameras, offering symmetrical panoramic views of both wings. Family sections are situated here in the lower tier.

Pros & Cons of Allianz Stadium Attendance

Factor Pros Cons
Sightlines & Audio Zero athletic track; covered acoustically enclosed roof enhances singing volume. Steep raking in upper tiers can challenge those with vertigo.
Public Transit Dedicated Matchday Tram Line 9 connects directly to Piazza Bernini Metro. Crowds departing after final whistle can wait 30-45 minutes for tram shuttles.
Amenities Integrated Area12 shopping mall adjacent, offering supermarkets and eateries. Rigid security perimeters limit quick entry/exit once scanned into turnstiles.
Ticketing Access Strict named ticketing ensures seat security and regulated queues. Tessera del Tifoso (supporter card) or membership often needed for top derbies.

How to Reach the Stadium from Central Turin

The arena is located at Corso Gaetano Scirea 50 in the northern suburb of Vallette (Circoscrizione 5). Depending on match scheduling, transit routes shift slightly:

  1. Matchday Dedicated Tram (Line 9/): On matchdays, GTT operates dedicated light rail shuttles from the Bernini metro stop (M1 Line) straight to the stadium terminal loop. This is the fastest route from Porta Nuova station (take Metro M1 direction Fermi to Bernini, then hop on Tram 9/).
  2. Standard City Bus Routes: Lines 72 and 72/ depart from Via Bertola in central Turin, dropping passengers along Corso Scirea outside Gate A.
  3. Vehicular Parking: For drivers holding pre-booked parking passes, access routes are via the Tangenziale Nord exit at Corso Regina Margherita or Venaria Reale. Non-ticketed street parking nearby is strictly enforced by local Polizia Municipale.

Stadium Tour & Practical Details

When the team is not competing, official tours provide exclusive access to dressing rooms, the media press room, player walkout tunnel, and pitch-side benches. Combined tickets with the Juventus Museum generally run approximately €25 to €30 for standard adult admission, with reduced rates for youth and seniors. Tickets should be secured well in advance online, particularly on weekends before Serie A fixtures.

Security protocol requires carrying valid government-issued photographic identification matching the exact spelling on your matchday ticket. Luggage lockers are limited, and strict limits apply to power banks, large backpacks, and professional telephoto camera lenses.
